I believe the LTA 50 only has the one speed restictor. It is a washer that restricts exhaust. I know the LT 80 has both the washer as well as a carb restrictor. My son got his first quad (LTA50) this past christmas, but has already moved up to the Kawasaki KFX80 (Suzuki LT80).

I know the starter is good, because if I bypass the starter relay (jump the wire that has 12v to the one that goes to the starter) it starts right up.
