Every cycle I have been able to measure the LH surge, and also the temp increase when I have ovulated and drop in BBT when AF is arriving. My FP/Ovulation has been all over the place though, so literally I measure OPK 2 times a day just to make sure I don't miss it. The range has been 18-37 days for ovulation - yup, that's a lot of OPKs!

It just confirms your lh surge. The only way to confirm O is with temping. U can get a pos. opk and not O. U can also get a neg. opk but temp rise which means u did O.
